SynoTV for DSM

1.1.0-0008

A free IPTV player for Synology: your M3U playlist opens in a DSM window and the NAS proxies the streams itself.

A native DSM app, not one more browser tab.

The browser only talks to the NAS. That is why plain-HTTP channels play in DSM over HTTPS, and why the private link of your playlist stays on the NAS.

The NAS proxies the streams

The NAS proxies the streams

Plain-HTTP IPTV streams play inside an HTTPS DSM session, and your provider’s link, with its private token, never reaches the browser.

DSM users only

DSM users only

Only users signed in to DSM can open it: SynoTV checks the session. No account, no cloud, no telemetry.

Questions and answers

Where do I get channels?

SynoTV is only a player: it contains no channels and sells no subscriptions. You need the link to the M3U playlist of your IPTV provider.

Which NAS models are supported?

Every Synology running DSM 7.0 or later. The CPU does not matter: the same package runs on x86_64, ARMv8 and ARMv7.

Does DSM have to be reachable from the internet?

No. SynoTV works wherever you already open DSM: on your home network, or remotely through whatever you already use.

Which formats does it play?

M3U and M3U8 playlists with HLS streams, the format most IPTV providers use. Links to other formats may not play in the browser.

Does SynoTV cost anything?

No, it is free and has no ads. It is made by IBCSC, a small Belgian IT team.

How do I check the downloaded file?

In Terminal, run the command below and compare the result with the SHA-256 fingerprint on the right. If a single character differs, do not open the file and write to us.

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/SynoTV-1.1.0-0008-noarch.spk
