Language Switcher
1.5.0Language Switcher fixes words typed in the wrong keyboard layout and switches the layout for you. Free, native, no account.
Typed "ghbdtn" instead of "привет"? At the first space Language Switcher replaces the word and switches to the right layout. It checks the macOS dictionaries and letter-pair frequencies, and never touches a correct word.
Everything stays on your Mac: no network, no account, no telemetry. Interface in Russian.
Features
Automatic and careful
The word is fixed at a space, punctuation or Return. Valid words, camelCase names and brands like iPhone are never changed.
Backspace
Backspace right after a fix restores the original word and layout. The word is remembered and never fixed again.
Double Shift
Press Shift twice to convert the current word, the last word or the selected text.
No lost keystrokes
Keys typed during a replacement are held and replayed in order afterwards.
Russian fixed
"првиет" becomes "привет"; unknown words like "кринж" are left alone. Lone letters too: "z ntcn" → "я тест".
Exclusions
Turn it off per app (terminals excluded by default), keep a list of words to leave alone, start at login.
What’s new
Version 1.5.0, 31 October 2026
- Short common words are fixed using the sentence around them ("ye" → "ну", "pf" → "за", "шт" → "in"), and so are words ending in ё, ю, б, ж, э, х ("ещё", "всю", "веб").
- The mid-word switch fires more often and earlier, based on how often words really start with those letters; if it turns out wrong at the end of the word, it is undone automatically.
- Acronyms typed in the wrong layout ("ЧЬД" → XML) are fixed. On 75,000 words of real messages: 99% of wrong-layout words fixed.
